Schools can also access a complete list of their candidates’ Form One selection by accessing the National Education Management Information System Nemis portal.

38,797 candidates were placed in national schools, 214,960 in extra county, 258,456 in countyschools, 726,311 in Sub-county schools and 2,045 in special needs schools.

Magoha noted with concern that a number of KCPE candidates struggled with selecting schools noting that they had not received proper guidance on the same. He urged parents and teachers to step in and assist them in the process.

Form One students will be required to report to school on Tuesday, May 3, 2022.

The CS noted that his Ministry will work with the Ministry of Interior under the helm of CS Fred Matiang’i to ensure that all learners join secondary schools.

In line with the 100 per cent transition policy, Magoha announced that the government will be offering 9,000 scholarships to needy students. However, he added that 4,000 of the same will be preferred to students from urban informal settlements.

The CS elaborated that the bursaries and scholarships should be given to needy children and children in boarding schools since the state caters to children in day school.
