Change of plan as the ministry of education makes this crucial announcements concerning the mid-term break.
Generally, when the term reaches mid-term, schools go on half-time leave. This helps the teachers and learners to refresh their mind before proceeding to the next phase of the session . This break lasted for a full week before the attack of covid-19 in the country. The change came when the education calendar was interfered with due to the Covid 19 issue.
This is because some of the terms were shortened to fix the learning period required by the curriculum. According to the Kenyan academic calendar released at the end of last year, there was no half stop in the term, occurring earlier in the academic year. The studies were to continue till December without any commas. This was done to make time for the two national exams to be held this year and early next year.

Keeping in mind that this term is long enough to cover three good months, the government through the Ministry of Education weighed the issues and finally came up with a mid term which would start from 19 to 23 November. This is enough time for the learners to refresh their mind and prepare well for the next half.
Following this, CS Prof George Magoha of Education clarified that, this half term announced yesterday is only for primary and secondary schools.
