The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) has kicked off the process of disbursing tuition fee to various school accounts of the beneficiaries.
“The following tuition batches have been disbursed to your bank account while the pending ones are work in progress and will be disbursed in due course; HELB-003919,HELB-003920,HELB-003927,HELB-003928,HELB-003938 and HELB-003937. We appreciate your patience.” HELB Tweeted on Thursday 10th February .
The agency funds needy students to the tune of between Sh35,000 and Sh60,000 per year, based on their economic background.
Of the total loan disbursed, Sh8,000 is sent directly to the university as tuition fees and the balance to the beneficiary’s bank account in two equal tranches covering the first and second semesters.
In the recent past ,the average allocation dropped from Sh43,000 to the current Sh37,000
