Covid-19 worrying surge
The Ministry of health yesterday 27/7/2020 h reported a positive increament in covid-19 cases in the country.
A sample size of 6896 has ben tested by the Ministry of Health in the last 24 hours. From this sample tested, 976 people tested positive for covid 19.
This saw the positivity rate of contraction shoot from 13.5% to 14.2% making the country experience an increase in the covid 19 infection cases for the last 24 hours. This has left many kenyans with a lot of fear on what will happen next.
Shockingly, today the Positivity rate has also shoot from 14% to 18% raising much worry among many kenyan. The CS Mutahi today have urged kenyan to take the correct measures of preventing the spread of the viruses.
In addition, the number of covid-19 infections in the counties have increased rapidly. Nairobi county 460, Mombasa 61, Kiambu 48, Makueni 43, Kilifi 39, Uasin Gishu 36 among others.
On addition, he urged politicians from having political meetings since these are these are the engineering spread factors.
Yesterday , 38 counties recorded new cases of covid-19; Tana River being among counties which recorded least cases.Does this mean that the positivity rate will increase higher? Or does it mean that the country is experiencing the fourth wave? These are the questions lingering is everyone mind at the moment.
Additionally, 10 more people succumbed to Covid-19. Today 13 more died.
If the trend of positivity rate will continue in this manner, the government in conjunction with Ministry of health might call for countrywide lockdown. This is only the way to prevent further spread of Covid-19 pandemic in the country.
If lock down again happens then the Kenyan economy is in a mess and many things will come to stand still.
Education sector will automatically again be affected as it had happened earlier which led to change in the Academic calendar.
