Kenya Film classification Board CEO Dr. Ezekiel Mutua releived from Duties

Ezekiel Mutua has been relieved of his duties as the Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya Film Classification Board after six years.

Sources say that Mutua has been sent on ‘terminal leave’ and no reason has been given for the same.

Christopher Wambua of the Communications Authority of Kenya has been appointed as the acting CEO until a replacement is found.

On Thursday night, Mr Mutua denied reports that he was fired, calling him “malicious” and said he was not aware of such developments.

“My attention has been drawn to the reports on social media to the effect that I have been fired as the CEO of KFCB. Please do not pay attention to such malicious rumours. I am not aware of such developments and cannot have any grain of truth in them as there is no vacancy in the office of CEO KFCB,” he said on his official Twitter account.

Makuni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Jr. broke the news when tweeting; “Ezekiel Mutua was removed as CEO by CS Mucheru after he was illegally appointed by the board legally. The laws are only suggestions for this administration. Stay tuned for more information……..
