According to a report by Daily Nation, the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) is set to receive an additional Sh15 billion for the 2022/23 financial year. The extra money is for salary hikes and recruitment of new teachers.

Treasury Cabinet Secretary Ukur Yatani is said to have allocated an additional ksh14.9 billion to TSC. This means the TSC budget has increased from 281.7 billion to 296.6 billion this year. According to a source in the National Assembly Education Committee, the extra money is to appease teachers who are very unhappy with Uhuru’s government. , This has prompted the government to do something before the elections.
