Yesterday the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service released the 2021/2022 placement statistics.

The data shows that some universities attracted huge number of candidates. This led to competitiveness as many students had selected the institutions.

Details by the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service further indicated that some institutions of higher learning received many candidates with some almost filling their declared capacities.

Some of the institutions however were not even filled halfway since only a few candidates had selected them. This has therefore revealed the most attractive universities in Kenya as ranked below.

1. Kenyatta University

The data released by KUCCPS indicated that Kenyatta University (KU) received 6,733 candidates. This is the university with the highest number of students who will join this year. KU had a total of 6,894 capacity and was allocated 6,733 students.

 

 

Details also indicate that the university had so many applicants leading to a very high competition for courses offered in the institution.

 

2. Maseno University

 

This is the second university allocated the highest number of students.

 

 

This institution had declared a capacity of 7,740 students and was allocated 6,659 candidates giving it the second attractive university this year.

 

 

 

3. Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology

 

JKUAT was allocated 6,529 candidates after declaring 7,151 slots. JKUAT has been ranked as the third attractive university countrywide.

 

4. The University of Nairobi

 

UoN had declared a total number of 6,536 slots. However, the institution was allocated 6,407 students. It has therefore been ranked as the fourth most attractive Kenyan institution of higher learning.

 

5. Mount Kenya University

 

Despite being a private institution of higher learning, Mount Kenya University had a total capacity of 6,420 students.

 

 

The institution was allocated 5,584 candidates. This is the university that received the fifth highest number of students.

 

6.Moi university

This university has been ranked as sixth most attractive institution. The university had a total capacity of 5,460 students and received 5,187 candidates.

 

These institutions of higher learning have been categorized as the Kenya’s most attractive universities. The institutions have however dominated over the years among the top ten best institutions.

 

 

 

Apart from their attractiveness, these universities have scooped top slots in terms of excellence, impact as well as producing quality graduates.
