TSC advertises 5,000 teaching posts in public primary and secondary schools for July Mass Recruitment 2021

The teacher service commission  has today announced 5,000 teaching  vacancies for secondary schools. This is to curb the shortage of teachers in secondary schools due to 100 percent transition of pupils from primary to secondary. All these teachers will be employed on permanent  and pensionable terms.

Among these  advertised secondary school posts, 1000 primary teachers will be promoted  to secondary schools. To add on these, the Teacher service commission advertised 2,987 posts for primary school teachers and 927 replacement posts for secondary school teachers to replace those who exited the teaching service.

In the advert, the Teacher Service commission gave out directives to all eligible candidates to apply and submit their applications online using the TSC websites www.tsc.go.ke under the section careers or www.teachersonline.tsc.go.ke not later than 12/07/2021.

The teacher service commission will later early in July release official guidelines to be used during the recruitment exercise together with the slots available in particular secondary and primary schools.

  •  He or she MUST be a Kenyan citizen
  • He or she MUST have at least a diploma in Education
  • He or she MUST be registered by the Teacher Service Commission

DEPLOYMENT  AND PROMOTION OF PRACTISING TEACHERS IN PUBLIC PRIMARY SCHOOLS(1000 SLOTS)

-A candidate should meet the following minimum requirements so as to be deployed or promoted to secondary school.

  • He or she MUST be a Kenyan citizen
  • He or she MUST have  a P1 certificate
  • He or she MUST be have a Bachelor’s Degree with two(2) teaching subjects
  • He or she MUST have attained  a  mean grade of a C plus in Kenya Certificate of  Secondary Examination(KCSE) or an equivalent grade of a C plus in both of the two(2) teaching subjects.

-All successful candidates will be posted by TSC to work in any part of the country apart from the county he or she was recruited.
