The teachers employer Teacher Service commission announced 5,000 employment vacancies for registered secondary unemployed teachers.
The application process is ongoing online where all the qualified candidates are on with the application. The application exercise will last till 12th July 2020.
Following the release of the new employment guidelines, the intern teachers are going to dominate the rest of teacher who are not in intern meaning all the intern will be confirmed .
According to the guidelines, the intern teachers will be awarded thirty(30) marks if they provide any evidence for intern employment.
For the case of academic and professional qualifications, those with first class will be awarded 40 marks with second class and pass awarded 35 and 30 marks respectively.
Diploma teachers will also have something to smile after a long period of struggle for marks. The candidate with Distinction qualification will be awarded awarded 40 marks, credit and pass will be awarded 35 and 30 marks respectively.
During the recruitment process, the highest degree of accountability and transparency is shown as it in the Public officers Act and the Teacher service commission code of conduct and Ethics 2015.
Before the exercise of recruitment starts, all the members in the panel who will be involved in the exercise are inducted on what is to be done according to the CORT 2015 and the employment Act by the Head of the institution.
The Teacher service commission(TSC) county Directors will put in place strict surveillance to ensure that all the Ministry of Health guidelines regarding the spread of covid19 virus are followed to the letter during the recruitment exercise.
TSC will use table below in awarding marks to teachers during the recruitment exercise.

Another very important thing is the length of stay at home after graduation. This carries marks which are important. The table below shows how marks are awarded according to the length of stay.

Participation in co-curricular activities carries a maximum of 1 mark, communication ability carries a maximum of 2 marks, students academic performance (evidence of exam records) has a maximum of 1 mark and special talent(s) has a maximum of 1 mark.
In this section no candidate should score zero marks. Remember having a well commanding voice and being dressed in official attire is an added advantage.
