The Ministry of Education has handed over names of school principals that are alleged to be flouting fee guidelines to the TSC.
The list starts with Nakuru Boys High School principal Yator Mike Kiplagat who has been in the spotlight over the issue. His interdiction was communicated through a letter penned by TSC.
“You charged extra levies to students in the year’s 2020 and 2021 contrary to the Basic Education Act section 29 while you were the Principal Nakuru Boys High school. Consequently, you are hereby interdicted with effect from September 1, 2021,” TSC county director wrote.
The principal has up to 21 days to forward a defence statement to the commission. Dr Julius Jwan mentioned that the ministry is determined to end such intentions by principals.
In line with the TSC disciplinary regulations, school heads flouting the Ministry directive are placed on half salary until their case is completed.
Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha has informed that the ministry will take action on teachers sneering the ministry directives.
