TSC Teachers receive salary increament, arrears, promotions

More than 315,000 teachers who are on the payroll of the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) have received their July salary and allowances.

Teachers’ salaries have already been sent into their accounts by a few banks and saccos. Among them are KCB Bank, National Bank, and Family Bank.

There is evidence that some teachers have received their July salaries in arrears. Additionally, TSC has transferred a number of teachers from one job group to another.

Career Progression Guidelines state that teachers who have worked three years in one job group have been transferred to a new one.

The administrators of schools have reaped the greatest rewards from this July’s increase. These people include principals, headteachers, and senior teachers.

Below is a summary of the extended salary points from Grade C4 to D4.

The elongation salary scale points for grades C4, C5, D1, and D4 are points three through seven, according to the table above.

The extended salary scale points for grades D2 and D3 range from point two to point seven. This month, the arrears will be paid.

However, according to TSC, teachers in grades B5, C1, C2, C3, and D5 are ineligible for compensation raises under the conditions of the CBA 2017–2021.

According to TSC, the teachers’ salaries cannot increase because they have already reached their maximum salary points.

“By the end of the cycle for CBA 2017 – 2021,” it was stated, “Grades B5, C1, C2, C3, and D5 have reached the maximum salary points permitted for in the banding.”
