Updated 2021 Allowances Paid to TSC Teachers in Kenya and the Amount of money each teacher will pocket

 

All TSC employed teachers in Kenya for both primary and secondary schools are entitled to a list of either remunerative or reimbursable allowances.

 

 

Remunerative allowances are normally paid with Salary while reimbursable are refundable upon application for it.

 

1. REMUNERATIVE ALLOWANCES

These allowances include;

a) House Allowances

Areas where house allowances are paid include,Former Major Municipalities (Mombasa, Kisumu, Nakuru, Nyeri, Eldoret, Thika, Kisii, Malindi and Kitale).

 

 

Other former Municipalities; Ruiru, Kikuyu, Kitui, Machakos, Mlolongo, Athi River, Vihiga, Wote, Mumias, Bomet, Limuru, Kericho, Kimilili, Kakamega, Kapsabet, Kiambu, Bungoma, Webuye, Busia, Runyenjes, Migori, Embu, Homa Bay, Lodwar, Meru, Nyahururu, Nanyuki, Maua, Voi, Siaya, Chuka and Kerugoya/ Kutus

 

b)Medical Allowances

 

c)Commuter Allowances

 

d) Hardship Allowances

 

e) Leave Allowances

 

 

 

2.Reimbursable Allowances

These include;

a) Special Duty allowances

This is normally paid to head teachers, deputy head teachers, seniour teachers and Directors of studies.

 

b) Special Duty allowances

Teachers who are appointment by the TSC to semi-arid and arid area for administrative posts for only teachers below job grade C5.

 

c) special school allowances

 

d) Readers Allowances

 

e) Interpreters Allowance.

 

f) Transfer Allowance

 

g) Reimbursable Expenses
